Canados Open 90’ wins ShowBoats Award

Monday, 2 July 2007 After winning the 2007 Millennium Yacht Design as the best yacht over 24 meters, the Canados Open 90’ conquered the jury of the ShowBoats International Awards thanks to its original interior design, allowing it to be selected as the best yacht in the Best Semi-Custom Motor Yacht Interior category. The presentation of the awards took place on 21st of June in Monaco, during the eighteenth annual rendezvous organized by the American magazine ShowBoats International.

The prestigious award — one of the most sought-after in the luxury yachting industry — was handed over to Maurizio Baldoni, the group’s new CEO, and Luiz De Basto, the Portuguese yacht designer who worked on the Canados Open 90’ project in close collaboration with the yard’s technical department.

“We are very proud to have received this important award,” says Maurizio Baldoni. “This is a further confirmation that we are taking all the right steps to reach our set targets. The Canados Open 90’ is perfectly in line with the spirit and evolution of the yard, which now aims to expand its sports range with other models, complementing the very successful fly-bridge line.”

It was certainly a hard task for the jury to select the winner from among the leading Italian and Dutch yards nominated for the award. One of the reasons for the success of the Canados Open 90’, amongst the many technical and design innovations, was the play of light and transparency resulting from the use of glass in different part of the yact. “The targets reached so far,” adds Maurizio Baldoni, “will allow Canados to consolidate its brand and to increase its market share in the luxury yacht segment.
