SUNRISE YACHTS PREPARES TO LAUNCH 45M “AFRICA” AND TO EXHIBIT AT MONACO YACHT SHOW 2009

ANTALYA, TURKEY : SUNRISE YACHTS - the super yacht yard founded by German entrepreneur Herbert P. Baum and French-British yacht-builder Guillaume Roché – is proud to confirm major milestones in its current projects:

• Project “Africa” – the first 45 meter of the Sunrise / Paolo Scanu designs – will be launched in July and expected at the Monaco Yacht Show in September; • Hull n°182, its sistership, is well underway with a scheduled delivery in the spring of 2010. The two 45m sister-ship motor yachts currently under construction are progressing according to plan: the first vessel, named “Africa” by the company’s first client is a few weeks away from launching. She went into the shipyard’s fully acclimatized paint-shed last week, arguably the largest and most modern in the Eastern Mediterranean (66m x 16m x 18m) and will be launched at the end of July for sea trials. She will then sail to the French Riviera later in the summer in preparation for the Monaco Yacht Show. The Sunrise 45m, is a full displacement, long-range motor-yacht, with high-tensile steel hull and aluminum superstructure, powered with 2 MTU 12V2000M70 engines, built to Lloyd’s / MCA requirements (hull and exterior styling by Paolo Scanu, interior design by Franck Darnet). The entire team at Sunrise Yachts is quite excited to launch its first major project and to demonstrate that the company’s claims to quality and reliability are successfully achieved. During a recent visit at the yard with Michael Payne of CNI Monaco, “Africa”’s client stated how impressed he was with the overall quality of the construction and of the interior finish which actually exceeded his expectations, further confirming that building in Turkey does not have to involve compromising on quality. Herbert and Guillaume said: “In the midst of our excitement, we only regret that our friend Paolo Scanu will not be with us to witness and celebrate the completion of this project, which is so important in the history of our company”. Sunrise Yachts plans to welcome many discriminating yachtsmen and qualified yachting professionals on board “Africa” both at the shipyard this summer and at the Monaco Yacht Show.
