Coppelia is the second in a series of four Dancing Ledge Class yachts which also included Peter Rabbit and Gay Music, all trace of which has been lost. John Tew’s lines were inspired by those of the legendary Vertue penned by architect Laurent Giles. At the end of the 1980s she was restored at Bob Hatcher’s yard at Southampton in England. She was then moved to Lake Maggiore in 2003 and purchased by the Revellino family of Turin. Between 2008 and 2009, Coppelia underwent renovation work at the Valdettaro yard in Le Grazie, where she is now based. She has participated in numerous rallies including Imperia (2006 and 2008), the Vele Storiche Viareggio, the Durand de la Penne (2009 and 2010), the TAN at Livorno (2010) and Sulla Rotta di Imperia (2008 and 2010). Because her design dates back to 1948, this sloop competes in the Vintage category.
